Free Dinner!!!

From time to time, because I work in healthcare, I get invited to free dinners sponsored by drug reps. They are usually at fairly upscale restaurants that I would not ordinarily go to. Last night, one of the drug companies we work with sponsored a dinner at Elway's here in Denver, and it was SOOOOOO good! It is a steakhouse named after the famous Denver Bronco John Elway. For appetizers, we had shrimp cocktail, calamari and some other type of finger food. I had a Caesar salad, a filet for dinner with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and creamed corn. MMMMMMM! And then for dessert, they made their own Ding Dongs! And it is even called a ding dong on the menu! It was a great meal (and free!), and the presentation was even good. Yay for a great free meal!

(Sandy, I am sorry to say that I did not take any pictures of my meal. )

  • Leah,
Oh I miss those days!! I used to work for a family practice/OBGyn office and we got lunch almost every day free and then we even got those free dinners. The last one I went to do had a talk about cholestrol and triglycerides as we were sitting there eating red meat and mashed potatoes and creamed corn!! YUMMY!

  • I've been to Wichita Falls many times! My dad actually coached at Hirschi while we were in college. I recruit Midwestern State Students, so I was on campus twice in the last two weeks. I didn't know you grew up there!

I haven't ordered from Zappos before, but based on your recommendation I may be ordering from them quite a bit!

  • Oh, that is my kind of meal...yummy. That is such a bonus to have the kind of job that people take you out to eat sometimes! In a really nice restaurant, I'm a bit shy about taking a picture, too. Now I have corn on my mind.
