San Francisco!

Jason and I will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary later this month, and we just decided to take a trip to San Francisco to celebrate! I have never been to California, so I am super excited. It will be a quick trip, but we are really looking forward to it. Do any of you have suggestions for things we have to do while we are there?

  • I would say try to find a farmers market (I'm sure in a big city they have them several times a week) and find some yummy stuff to eat. A small loaf of bread, a small block of cheese, and a piece of fresh fruit..then find a pretty place to sit and eat, maybe at a park, with a blanket and some refreshments. :)

Besides that, just take the opportunity to find hole-in-the-wall cafes and restaurants and indulge yourselves!

  • Hi Leah!
How fun! I do not know the Bay area well, but I know there are a ton of fun things to do! I think you can even take a tour of Alcatraz. :)

  • China town and Alcatrez were two of my favorites. I mean, Woman's favorites :)

  • I grew up there and I've been back a bunch of times. Beautiful city.

YI recommend: Bridge, Alcatraz, Fishermans Warf, Lumbard Street, Chinatown, they have a wonderful Zoo and the Exploratorium is wonderful.....then have dinner in the lovely little Italy called 'North Beach'.

  • Oh boy, you lucky duck! I've been there three times before I decided not to fly anymore. The husband and I stayed here and it was the best location for the trolley.http://www.starwoodhotels.com/westin/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1010 The trolley takes you down to the piers and there you can go to Alcatraz and shopping and food along the piers. I LOVE SF. We also went to Napa Valley and Muir Woods and Carmel by the Sea, and Monterey...but every time I've been we stayed five days or longer adn were able to travel around.

  • If you can get to the wine country north of SF, I would suggest the Krobel champagne winery tour. It's lots of fun and you get to taste a bunch of champagnes (sorry - "sparkling wines" in CA) at the end. YUM!

  • I have never been, but my sis went there on a loner trip and she just got lost in China Town for a few days and absolutely loved it. I've only ever flown over it - the bridge looks beautiful, though - so I suggest going there. And I hear the food is great and that they have awesome markets.
    Yay for anniversary trips!
